Are you talking about that demo or the modified one above?

Both only feature 100% width block elements. If I resize the page to a very
wide size, I can still see, by using the DOMi for instance, that the Flash
is a block element, it always is. Is this inescapable?

Btw, on Windows, both Opera and IE render both the replaced elements and the
Flash, with the Flash just above and the normal text below.
http://design.tom-lee.com/labs/HeadingReplacement/default.html doesn't work
in Opera and causes JS errors in IE.
