[sIFR3-dev] replacing text with a SPAN in firefox

Hi folks,

I've been troubleshooting this problem for the last few hours and finally
have decided I need help.

Is there any reason that sIFR would not replace text that lives within a
span or strong or other tag like that within Firefox?
